DESCRIPTION:Commerce, in partnership with the Municipal Research and Services Center (MRSC) brings you comprehensive information and resources that support jurisdictions with periodic updates due in 2027, required under the Growth Management Act (GMA) RCW 36.70A.130. Information relevant to all jurisdictions throughout the statewill be provided, so all are encouraged to attend! This workshop will cover:\n\nHousing planning for partially planning jurisdictions\nOverview of the new housing element requirements and tips for completing each section (identifying housing needs, land capacity, adequate provisions and racially disparate impacts)\nUpdates to housing element guidance based on recent Growth Management Hearings Board (GMHB) cases\nOther housing code changes required with the periodic update\nCommunity spotlight: City of Anacortes\nDiscussion and Q&A\n\nEach workshop in the series will feature a different periodic update topic in–depth, including topics for jurisdictions that are partially planning under the GMA.
