WCIA Training Reimbursement:

Planning Association of Washington (PAW) training and conferences qualify for reimbursement under WCIA’s Training Reimbursement Program and are eligible for reimbursement upon program completion.

  • Reimbursement requests can be applied under the WCIA member’s annual 1% Training Reimbursement Allotment or Scholarship Program.
  • Requestors must confer with their entity’s assigned WCIA Delegate and/or Alternate for reimbursement authorization.
  • Requests must be submitted through the WCIA Origami Member Portal by the designated Origami user.
  • Questions about reimbursement or your WCIA Delegate, Alternate, or Origami user, please contact WCIA Member Services at memberservices@wciapool.org.

About the Webinar:

Let’s take a dive into the world of water resources!

This webinar will cover water-related issues that impact land use planning in Washington State. Topics will include water law and important court cases, water rights, watershed planning, adjudication, metering, conservation, and water banking.

About the Speakers:

Scott Kuhta, AICP

Senior Planner, Washington State Department of Commerce

Scott has worked for Growth Management Services since the summer of 2014, providing planning technical assistance to Spokane, Adams, and Whitman counties and cities. His technical focus includes critical areas, shorelines, and water resources. Prior to state service, he worked over 20 years for local government planning agencies, including Kootenai County, Spokane County, and the City of Spokane Valley gaining experience in nearly all areas of planning.  Scott has B.A. in Business Management from Gonzaga University and a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Eastern Washington University.

Jaime Short

Eastern Regional Section Manager, Washington State Department of Ecology

Jaime Short serves as the Eastern Regional Section Manager for the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Water Resources Program with more than 19 years of experience working on water issues. Before joining the Water Resources team, she worked as a planner with Ecology’s Shorelands and Environmental Assistance Program.
