Washington State has a long history of collaborating to get things done in GIS. We first started coordinating GIS efforts in the mid 1980’s. Today collaboration with GIS is a must. Joanne will discuss how that works in Washington and provide some concrete examples of how the state benefits from these efforts, especially open data sharing, sensitive data sharing, current strategic initiatives and the relationship between GIS and state privacy principles.
