2027 Periodic Update Workshop Series

Commerce, in partnership with the Municipal Research and Services Center (MRSC) brings you comprehensive information and resources that support jurisdictions with periodic updates due in 2027, required under the Growth Management Act (GMA) RCW 36.70A.130. Information relevant to all jurisdictions throughout the state will be provided, so we encourage all to attend!

This workshop will cover:

• Overview of critical areas ordinances (CAO), adaptive management, and Commerce’s CAO resources
• Updating fish and wildlife habitat conservation areas
• Ecology’s guidance resources, GMA recommendations and wetland delineation overview
• Discussion and Q&A

Each workshop in the series will feature a different periodic update topic in-depth, including topics for jurisdictions that are partially planning under the GMA. The second critical areas workshop (scheduling TBD) will cover geologically hazardous areas, critical aquifer recharge areas and frequently flooded areas.
