The City is working to showcase North Bend as the vibrant and dynamic city that it is and to grow the local economy with new business activity while also helping existing businesses flourish.  The Associate Planner – Planning and Economic Development position, under the direction of the Planning Manager, will support these efforts by performing a variety of duties in support of the planning and economic development activities of the City.   

This position will perform administrative, technical and professional work in preparation and implementation of economic and community development plans, site plan and development review, facilitating development agreements, and preparing and administering grant applications, as well as working with the Community and Economic Development Director to support tourism promotion and business recruitment and retention. This position also serves as a liaison to the business community and supports the maintenance of a positive image of the City via marketing and business communications.  This position will work closely with the Community and Economic Development staff, department directors, and elected officials. Strong communication skills and a desire to work with developers and the business community is important.
