Under the direction of the Planning and Development Services Director, this position oversees and facilitates GIS applications, analysis, and processes to provide reliable and accessible GIS analyses and datasets. This position conducts the analysis of spatial data, creates maps and other presentation materials, and maintains the city-wide GIS databases and systems. The GIS Specialist manages projects, technology, resource needs, and makes recommendations for GIS development. This position supports other departments for GIS integration, requirements, and projects, including planning, utilities, parks, engineering, and more.

Performing technical duties involving the QC/QA of tabular and spatial data, geographic analysis, and cartographic production of graphics and maps. Oversee and lead the development and implementation of standards and procedures to create and maintain the citywide enterprise GIS.
