If yes, please consider applying for our open position as a zoning code specialist at Raimi + Associates. We are a multidisciplinary planning, policy, urban design, and research firm with offices in Berkeley, Los Angeles, and Riverside, CA. We are growing and need to hire several more staff members to support a diversity of existing and upcoming projects. While we would prefer that the staff member work part time in one of our offices, we are very open to the right candidate being entirely remote and working from another area in California or another state.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing complete or portions of zoning codes.
  • Preparing development and design regulations either as stand-alone documents or as parts of area plans.
  • Assisting with public outreach and participation, including workshops and social media.
  • Managing projects (may vary depending on level of experience).
  • Assisting with other planning projects (General Plans, Specific Plans, design review), as needed.

Skills and Experience:

Required skills and experience include:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in planning, urban design, architecture, or similar field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the planning field
  • Proven experience working on zoning codes and development standards in a variety of contexts (urban, suburban, rural)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Salary and Benefits:

  • A competitive salary (starting salary of at least $90,000 per year but could be much higher for senior staff with significant experience preparing zoning codes)
