The Code Compliance Specialist is classified as a technical position within the city and operates within its own specific functional area (Code Enforcement) as a part of the Community Development Department. The person in this position serves as the City’s Code Enforcement Officer and uses technical knowledge and discretion in managing an active caseload as well as overseeing the implementation and updating of applicable regulations. The Code Compliance Specialist’s efforts are necessarily coordinated with other staff and external parties. The person filling this position will receive, investigate, research, and resolve citizen questions, complaints, violations, and issues relating to zoning, land use, signs, surface water, site development, and compliance with other related municipal codes.
