Description

Join City of Sammamish – a dynamic and progressive local government dedicated to fostering sustainable community growth and improving the quality of life for our community. City of Sammamish is renowned for its vibrant culture, diverse population, and commitment to innovative community development.

The City of Sammamish is on the cusp of seeing its Town Center vision come to life, and the City’s next Deputy Community Development Director will have a significant role in developing this new, vibrant neighborhood in Sammamish. Located in the heart of Sammamish, the Town Center area is 240 acres of largely greenfield properties. It is envisioned to be a hub for the community where new and diverse housing, retail and dining opportunities provide a walkable, transit-friendly neighborhood. The City is working with land owners and developers to provide a mix of housing types, densities and affordability, along with commercial activities and civic spaces throughout the zone. A supplemental EIS and potential code changes are underway to ensure that the Sammamish Town Center develops into a vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood that provides much-needed amenities for new and existing Sammamish residents. The new Deputy Director will help lead the overall Town Center effort, including working directly with landowners and developers, implementing potential code and process changes, supervising the planning and permitting efforts and liaising with the City Council and community as Town Center continues to develop. This is a rare opportunity for a Community Development professional to nurture a brand new neighborhood virtually from the ground up.
