The Community Development Department is looking for creative and collaborative Senior Planners! In this role, you will help lead the Department’s growing portfolio of long-range planning projects in one of the fastest-growing cities in the State of Washington. You will work in a supportive and creative team environment to help implement the community’s vision of a walkable, livable, affordable, and sustainable city. You will assist developers and the public with zoning regulations, collaborate with commissions and regional partners, and help verify compliance with State, Federal, and City land use policies and regulations.

What will you do in this position?

  • Work on Long-range Community Development and planning efforts.
  • Support development and implementation of the City’s Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update. 
  • Deploy strategic housing, climate, and resilience initiatives. 
  • Steward revisions to zoning code and development regulations. 
  • Foster relationships and collaborate with regional partners to address and implement community goals. 

A successful candidate in this position will:

  • Facilitate clear and efficient communication of information and ideas through diverse communication channels.
  • Streamline work processes and adeptly coordinate and collaborate with your team.
  • Evaluate and prioritize various tasks, projects, and demands.
  • Work together with the Bothell community and city departments to cultivate strong and successful partnerships.
  • Have interest or eligibility for certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
