The City of Puyallup is hiring for an Assistant Planner position. The position is part of the Planning Division in the Development and Permitting Services Department.  The priority application date is October 14th and the job posting may close upon receipt of a qualified applicant pool.

This is an entry-level professional position, and the successful candidate will be focusing on current (permit-oriented) and/or comprehensive (long-range) planning.  Work assigned which is related to current planning includes development plan review, permit processing, generation of condition letters and staff reports, oral presentations, as well as zoning-related public information. Work assigned which is related to comprehensive planning  includes research and report writing, presentations to Boards and Commissions, mapping, public information and assistance, and data collection/analysis.
